The Groomer Business Launch Programme
Learn the skills. Build your plan. Prepare for your first customers.
Eligibility
This programme is provided exclusively to graduates who complete the Foundation Diploma or the Foundation Diploma - Extended course. It is not available to graduates of other courses or workshops, and is not sold as a standalone product.
Learning how to groom professionally is the essential first step - but many new groomers are left wondering what to do next.
What equipment should you buy? Should you work from home, go mobile or open a salon? How do you set prices properly? And how do you persuade your first customers to trust you with their dogs?
The Groomer Business Launch Programme helps eligible Jodie's Groom Room graduates approach those decisions with greater confidence and a practical plan.
More than grooming training
Jodie has spent more than 18 years working in a real grooming salon and helping aspiring groomers develop practical skills.
The Graduate Business Launch Programme brings together the business lessons, planning tools and practical considerations that can help students move from training towards employment or establishing a grooming business of their own.
The programme is not sold as a standalone online course. Access is provided only after successful completion of the Foundation Diploma or the Foundation Diploma - Extended at Jodie's Groom Room.
What the programme covers
Graduates are guided through the principal decisions involved in starting a grooming business, including:
- Choosing between employment, home-based, mobile and salon business models.
- Researching demand and competition in a local area.
- Preparing a realistic start-up budget.
- Deciding which equipment is essential and what can wait.
- Assessing potential premises and planning an efficient workspace.
- Setting prices based on time, costs and sustainable capacity.
- Developing a brand, service menu and customer proposition.
- Marketing locally and finding the first customers.
- Creating an effective enquiry, appointment and rebooking process.
- Preparing a structured plan for the first 90 days.
Each subject is supported by practical guidance and selected planning resources.
Graduate resources
Depending on whether the Foundation Diploma or the Foundation Diploma - Extended was completed, resources may include:
- A grooming-business planning workbook.
- Market-research and competitor-review worksheets.
- Start-up budget and equipment checklists.
- A pricing and capacity calculator.
- Premises and workflow planning guidance.
- Marketing and first-customer checklists.
- Customer-journey and rebooking guidance.
- A 90-day business launch planner.
- Access to graduate support and future programme updates.
The full lessons, templates and planning tools are reserved exclusively for eligible graduates.
Why is access provided after training?
The programme is designed to complement practical grooming ability - not replace it.
Business planning becomes more useful once a student has worked with real dogs, experienced a working salon and developed a realistic understanding of appointment times, equipment, workflow and customer expectations.
For that reason, access is activated only after successful completion of the Foundation Diploma or the Foundation Diploma - Extended.
Practical guidance - not unrealistic promises
The programme is designed to help graduates make better-informed decisions and avoid common start-up mistakes. It does not guarantee employment, customers, income or business success.
Registration, tax, insurance, planning and licensing requirements vary by country and location. Graduates must obtain appropriate advice from local authorities and qualified professionals before making legal or financial commitments.
